How They Work in Play
Say your character has a rank 2 Hook of Protect the Innocent. Dealing with a corrupt baron, you could:
- Add its rank of 2 to one intimidation roll over their exploitation of workers
- Earn Karma when you refuse a profitable bribe because it would harm common folk
- Get an automatic bonus of its rank of 2 (GM's call) on any roll to deal with a threat to workers' families!
Hooks make you better at the things your character cares about most, while creating the kind of complications that drive the stories you want to tell.
