Combat Roles

Lots of characters fight, but if they do it well they are probably using one of these.

I am brave, strong, and ready to fight.

The warrior deals in physical conflict, dealing out harmful force (or the threat of it) with skill and precision and using their training to survive the ire of others. They can effectively use any common or reasonable improvised weapon effectively; a warrior can make a beer stein hurt you in ways you will remember for a lifetime. The Role also applies to feats of strength, courage, tactical evaluation of enemies and strategies, and throwing anything handy at short range.

This doesn't mean they instinctively know the specialized techniques for exotic weapons like a khopesh or kusarigama - that requires specific training, expressed as Maneuvers. At its base, the Warrior Role is a brawler; it represents someone who understands the fundamentals of violence: timing, distance, leverage, and the will to act decisively without being squeamish when it matters.
