Nurse's Handfasting

Yes, and - Social

Keywords - Upright: a bond forged in care, loyalty earned, kinship chosen  ·  Inverted: gratitude become need, a patient who won't be discharged

Upright

The healer and patient bound together through the act of care. A tie formed that wasn't there before, warm and lasting.

Care given wholly has made something that outlasts the wound. Between healer and healed a tie has formed - gratitude, trust, something warmer - and it is the kind of tie people honor for years. Help was the work; this is the harvest. Few things in the deck are as simply good as this card.

Inverted

The bond healed over the wound and kept growing. What began as gratitude has thickened into reliance: a patient who will not be well unless you are in the room, a rescued soul who has organized their life around their rescuer. Kindness built this, and only kindness can take it apart - slowly, and on purpose.

In Play

Upright. Liss brings the ranger through the fever, and he leaves a standing pledge: her name is good at his lodge, and anywhere his people range.

Inverted. The ranger recovers in body and returns to her door with every small ailment after, certain that no other hands can be trusted.
