Caught and bound, and things are actively getting worse. The ligature is doing real work.

Caught - and caught by people who prepared for catching. The cords are professional, the search was thorough, and every struggle so far has only demonstrated their quality. Worse, being held is not the end state: you are being held for something - questions, transfer, the arrival of whoever pays. The situation is deteriorating on a schedule that is not yours.

Inverted

Thoroughness has blind spots of its own. The trap sprang perfectly, and now its owners must staff it: watches to keep, transport to arrange, a prisoner whose feeding and moving is suddenly their problem. Somewhere in their haste is a cord tied fast instead of well, a guard certain instead of careful. Captors relax on a rhythm. The knot with give in it, and the moment they look away - that is the next draw.
