Prophet's Levy

Yes, but - Commercial

Keywords - Upright: true sight, knowledge that obliges  ·  Inverted: a vision that conscripts, knowing as burden

Upright

The vision was accurate, the path is clear - but the Prophet collects his due and you didn't get a say. Success arrived with an invoice attached. Pay it and move on.

The seeing was true - it rose in you unasked, and it was right. That is the gift, and this is its levy: true knowledge obliges. You cannot now act as if you did not know; every path that ignores the vision has quietly closed. The insight cost nothing to receive. It bills you in obligation.

Inverted

The vision has begun to steer. What arrived as guidance hardens into compulsion: plans reorganize themselves around the thing you saw, and the seeing - not you - starts doing the choosing. Obey it, test it, or set it down and accept not-knowing - all three are permitted. Only one is comfortable.

In Play

Upright. The knowing comes to Renn at the ford: the caravan must not camp on the near bank. They cross, grumbling, by torchlight - and he spends the night certain instead of easy.

Inverted. The same knowing returns each dusk, more insistent: leave the caravan entirely. Renn's contract, his purse, and his gut now disagree - and the draw decides which he honors.
