Jack of Hearts

Bard's Ode

Yes, and - Social

Keywords - Upright: insight unbidden, the right words arriving, an inner door  ·  Inverted: a truth that overshoots, insight without discretion

Upright

A gift freely given, a story that opens doors. Someone's charm or talent is working entirely in your favor, and the benefit ripples outward beyond what was asked. Accept it gracefully.

An understanding arrives unbidden - the right words, the true shape of someone's heart, a story you suddenly know how to tell. The insight is yours, generated from within, and it opens a door no one handed you the key to. Trust it in the moment; examine it afterward.

Inverted

The knowing comes just as freely and lands harder than intended. Words that true cut whether you mean them to or not: a song that names a grief its owner had hidden, an observation that undresses someone in company. The gift has no volume control tonight. If you must speak, speak to one person, not the room.

In Play

Upright. The right verse comes to Renn unlooked-for, and the grieving widow's face eases for the first time since the burial.

Inverted. The verse is truer than Renn knows - and the widow's brother, hearing his own secret inside it, decides the singer knows far too much.
